Tottenham fans everywhere have high hopes for the future with Oliver Skipp at the club

Tottenham ran out 3-1 winners over Southampton last night and whilst it wasn’t the routine game that everyone expected for the Lilywhites, with the Saints hitting the woodwork three times, but it was still a win. During the clash, there was a memorable moment for young Oliver Skipp, as he came on to make his Premier League debut in the dying minutes of the clash.

The youngster made his senior debut for the club against West Ham in the Carabao Cup back in October and it seemed like it would be just a matter of time until Mauricio Pochettino gave the 18-year-old his Premier League debut. It may not have been a long debut, with just three minutes of action for the midfielder, but it’s a step in the right direction as he continues to impress his gaffer in training.

Both of the games which the young midfielder has featured in at senior level for Tottenham have finished 3-1, and it looks like Poch is reluctant to trial the midfielder for any length of time, but the fact he’s in his plans is still something to be proud of nonetheless. A lot of the Lilywhites believe that Skipp is the next big thing to come out of their club and considering the successes of both Harry Kane and Harry Winks in the senior side, you can’t blame them.

The future is certainly bright at Tottenham, and for Skipp in particular, and the fans will be desperate to see more of the youngster over the course of the season.
