Tottenham fans aren’t exactly a happy bunch at the moment. With the recent results and the ongoing stadium issues, it probably isn’t the best time for the club to be tweeting about engagements. However, that’s what they’ve done as a couple has become engaged at the new stadium, which fans can read more about on the Tottenham website.
Love is in the air at #SpursNewStadium!

There’s no doubting that the story of the proposal at the new stadium is a lovely one, but it’s far from what the fans want to be reading at the moment. The couple had flown in from New York to watch the Tottenham vs Liverpool clash that had been scheduled to play at the new stadium, however, instead it was at Wembley and the couple were allowed to have a stadium tour where the husband to be popped the question when pitch side.
The fans aren’t best pleased that this is the sort of content being tweeted at a time like this, though. After losing to both Watford and Liverpool in consecutive games, failing to sign anyone in the transfer window and being unable to move into your new stadium with no clear moving date, the fans are far from happy. It will be a long season for Tottenham at this rate and the fans are in desperate need of a pick-me-up in the coming weeks.

“Dad, where did you pop the question to mum?”
“On a building site, son.”

So far detached from the reality of the fans. Just stop tweeting untill the stadiums finished and we're getting what we paid for!

Yeah, happy for them and all, but seriously @SpursOfficial this is not want we want to see/hear. Gives us news about when the stadium will be finished, or new long term contracts will be signed. This tweet is only good news for 2 people.

Wish then every success in the world but surely someone at Spurs must have thought that now might not be the best time to put this tweet out?

I’m not sure that anybody apart from the happy couple care much about this. There are far more important things the club should be focusing on right now.

Whilst the fans wish the couple every success, they’re keen to see some updates on the stadium and less news like this until the mood around the club improves.
