Tottenham fans fear Dembele’s time at the club is over amid latest injury

The last 12 months have been turbulent for Mousa Dembele. During the 2017/18 season, he was one of the key cogs in Mauricio Pochettino’s midfield. However, when summer came around it looked like he’d be leaving. Dembele eventually stayed but now that Het Nieuwsblad have confirmed he’ll be out for six weeks, the Lilywhites feel like his Tottenham career could be over.

It was Mousa Dembele’s 250th appearance in a Tottenham shirt when he lined up to face Wolves last Saturday but sadly for the midfielder he didn’t last long. The 31-year-old was stretchered off just seven minutes into the clash with an ankle problem and whilst he was able to walk off the pitch himself it didn’t look like it would be a minor layoff. Now, the Tottenham fans are worried over the future of their man.
One of the main reasons why Dembele was touted with an exit over the summer months was because the Belgian didn’t believe he could live up to the physicality of the Premier League anymore. The way that he plays, using his body as a shield for the ball to glide past players, has obviously been taxing down the years and now it looks like the injuries are starting to catch up with him and he could do with winding down his career somewhere with less intensity, although with Spurs’ current injury crisis, this isn’t good news.

That’s the end of him at Spurs then.

The writing appears to be on the wall for Dembele at Tottenham and if he does stay past January it’s hard to see him being a Lilywhites next season.
