Tottenham supporters were in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern on Sunday as their side completed a memorable week with a narrow 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Wembley, a result which moved them level on points with Manchester United in the Premier League table.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men may well have begun the week losing to Jose Mourinho’s side at Old Trafford, yet they hit back with a sensational 3-1 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night, thus securing their place in the last 16. And they returned to winning ways in the league on Sunday as a Son Heung-min strike midway through the second half was enough to see off Roy Hodgson’s battling Eagles, who remain firmly rooted to the bottom of the Premier League and are now six points adrift of safety.
Thus, several of our resident Spurs fans have been toasting their side’s success in the Tavern on Sunday, although it was a far from convincing performance from their team at Wembley, and it was one man on the opposing side which caught the eye of several of those Tottenham supporters lining up at the bar.
Wilfried Zaha returned to the Palace side against Chelsea a few weeks ago and inspired them to victory over the Blues, before the 24-year-old scored a wonderful late goal to grab a point against West Ham last weekend.
And the Ivory Coast international was again Palace’s most creative spark on Sunday, which certainly caught the eye of several Spurs supporters given that the forward has been linked with a move to the North London outfit in recent seasons…

Zaha may have missed his chance, but such a threat. Like to see him on Poch’s letter to Santa. #COYS
