The 4-2 loss to Arsenal yesterday was a sore one for Tottenham fans. The Lilywhites will be feeling this one for a while and the only remedy that may turn it around in the next few weeks would be a win a The Emirates in the Carabao Cup. Hopefully, for that game, Erik Lamela will be available after he missed out yesterday as the Spurs fans believe he would have been the difference.
Sad for me to miss the derby but supporting my team and I’ll be back soon! lets go today !! COYS
— Erik Manuel Lamela (@ErikLamela) 2 December 2018
The Argentine attacking midfielder has proven his worth to the side this season. After suffering with injuries throughout both the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons, it’s been a breath of fresh air for the Lilywhites to see their abrasive yet creative spark make the impact that they all know he’s capable of. However, he missed out against Arsenal yesterday and a lot of Tottenham fans knew that they’d end up missing him.
The 26-year-old gives Tottenham a different edge in these clashes. Not only his end product, which has seen him score six goals and assist two more this season, but his fire in a derby was missed. Lamela is one of those who has come to Tottenham and just got the club, he understands what these derbies mean and he’s contributed to some big moments in the past, so you can see why the fans were gutted when he was ruled out of this one.

The Lilywhites all agree that they missed Lamela yesterday and it certainly would have been a different game had the Argentine been available.
