Tottenham fans on Twitter are looking at Joachim Andersen as the next Alderweireld

Tottenham fans will be focusing on their football at the moment. However, certain issues remain and one of those is the contract situation with Toby Alderweireld. The Belgian is out of contract in summer 2020, yet he can leave for £25 million this summer per a clause in his contract, leading to CalcioMercato’s reports linking Spurs with Joachim Andersen.
[CalcioMercato] reports Tottenham Hotspur have started negotiations with Sampdoria over a summer transfer for Joachim Andersen.

The young Danish defender has proven that he can perform at the highest level with his performances for Sampdoria this season. The way that the 22-year-old is able to ping a pass and bring the ball forward whilst staying as solid as ever at the back makes him a superb option for any top side, and Tottenham more than most considering they could be set to lose Alderweireld on the cheap.
According to the reports, Tottenham have reached out to Sampdoria’s vice-president over a potential transfer and it looks a lot like if the club is going to sign anyone in the summer, the first place they’ll be looking to bolster is the defence seeing as their star Belgian is on the way out. It could be a massive summer for the Lilywhites after going two windows with no new faces, and starting out by signing Andersen would be a brilliant way to kick things off.

I really like this guy. Solid and can ping a pass.

Not the quickest centerback but solid other than that.

One just hope that we for once are pro-active and decisive regarding transfers. Getting our targets locked down early would make such a differance to the usual empty handed window shopping. Poch clearly deserves the backing after another fantastic season.

Will have to google him, but will wait till I see the picture with Poch and the pen

Saw him play a couple of weeks ago. Solid but not spectacular. Just pay Toby

Good bye Tobias

The Lilywhites hate the idea of losing Alderweireld but will be desperate to replace him effectively if he is to leave.
