Tottenham fans on Twitter buzzing for Son as winger hits 100 Premier league appearances

Tottenham beat Newcastle 2-1 at St James Park on Saturday and when Heung-Min Son came off the bench in the second half it marked the 26-year-old’s 100th Premier League appearances, a serious achievement for the Korean winger. Son will now leave the Spurs squad to meet up with his national team and he’ll be sorely missed for a few weeks now as he aims for a medal with his country.

Son has been in the Tottenham squad since signing for the Lillywhites from Bayer Leverkusen back in summer 2015 and as he starts his 4th season with the club he’ll be keen to kick on and add some silverware with Tottenham to his trophy cabinet. In his 100 Premier League games, the versatile winger has contributed 30 goals and 16 assists, an unbelievable return for a player who’s largely been used as a winger in his time at the club.

Son’s achievements have been somewhat overshadowed by Harry Kane over the last few seasons. The English striker has been the gem in the crown of the Tottenham side and his insanely good goalscoring record is enough to make anyone look inferior. However, Tottenham fans all understand Son’s importance to the side and he’ll be greatly missed in the few weeks he has away with South Korea. For now, though, the supporters are all delighted for him with his impressive milestone.
