Tottenham fans on Twitter call for Jack Roles in the senior squad

With Harry Kane, Harry Winks and Kyle Walker-Peters already in the Tottenham Hotspur senior squad, the Lilywhites aren’t against pulling another homegrown star through their ranks. This time, though it’s young Jack Roles who they want to see more of after he scored two and assisted two in a 5-4 win over Athletic Bilbao’s U23s last night.

The 19-year-old central midfielder played a starring role in Tottenham’s final group game in the Premier League International Cup. After setting up Vincent Janssen to open the scoring before curling in a free-kick inside 15 minutes, his work was undone when Atletic Club turned the game on its head and took a 3-2 lead. The game was far from over, though, as Roles went on to crush the Basque club.

The youngster would score another and set one more up at the young Lilywhites won the game 5-4, progressing to the last eight of the competition without defeat. After his performance, the fans have been demanding that the youngster gets a senior opportunity. Having played yesterday, there’s no way he’ll be in the squad for tonight’s Carabao Cup clash, but with an FA Cup 4th round tie against Crystal Palace on Sunday, the fans would love to see Roles involved.
