Tottenham fans on Twitter can’t believe how good Gazzaniga was last night

Paulo Gazzaniga last night became the first Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet away at Arsenal since Espen Baardsen achieved the feat during a 0-0 draw at Highbury back in November 1998, over 20 years ago. The Argentine ‘keeper helped make history last night, and the fans have been marvelling at his sublime performance.

As you can imagine, the Lilywhites loved Gazzaniga yesterday and after having to wait since the 6th November to see him in action again, the Argentine shot-stopper did not disappoint the fans as he pulled off a number of impressive saves to keep the Lilywhites in control of the tie when he easily could have been beaten, especially when both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey thought they’d scored.

The way things are going in the goalkeeping department at Tottenham, a lot of fans wouldn’t be at all surprised if Gazzaniga ended up replacing Hugo Lloris as the club’s #1 between the sticks. In all of the 26-year-old’s seven appearances for the club he’s unbeaten and whilst that run is alive the fans want to see him playing as much as possible, especially if he’s going to perform like he did last night.

The Lilywhites just cannot get enough of Gazzaniga and they’ll be desperate to see him afforded some more game time in the next few weeks.
