Tottenham fans on Twitter can’t believe they’re losing Son to international duty again

Heung-Min Son played a huge role in his side’s win last night, scoring the first goal in a 2-0 win away at The Emirates. However, the celebrations didn’t last long as this morning saw Tottenham take to Twitter to confirm that the South Korean would be joining up with his national team for the Asian Cup after facing Man United on January 13th.
Sonny has been called up to the South Korea squad for the AFC Asian Cup in January 2019.
He will join up with the squad following our match against Manchester United on Sunday 13 January.

The tournament runs from January 5th to February 1st, and Son will be missing the first couple of group matches against The Philippines and Kyrgyz Republic before meeting up with the squad to take on China in their final group game. The Lilywhites, though, are far from happy with this, especially after they lost Son for three games back at the start of the season as he competed in the Asian Games.
The news was never going to go down well with Tottenham fans as they’ll be missing our on one of their star men for the important Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg against Chelsea, as well as clashes against Fulham, Watford and Newcastle in the Premier League. Hopefully, Mauricio Pochettino can get someone in over the January window to make up for Son’s absence, but the chances are they’ll have to just make do without the South Korean for the month.

they should play more tournaments. 23467886 per season isn't enough.

Big loss, but hope him come back with another trophy and without any injury. pic.twitter.com/yocfO1eFkY

Bloody hell he has done enough for Korea

That’s a joke. He’s exempt of military service and it clashes with our fixtures. That’s the second leg of the Chelsea game that he’s missing

Can someone not give this man a day off

Give him some rest!

Better than national service but he will be such a miss for us!

The Lilywhites are fuming to be losing Son next month, and will hope he can return injury-free from his time with South Korea.
