Considering how many games Tottenham will be playing over the Christmas period, it’s very rare that Mauricio Pochettino is able to go with his 100% full strength side, often switching players around here and there. However, when the Lilywhites saw their side yesterday they were elated, as Poch picked the best possible squad available to him.
#THFC: Lloris (C), Walker-Peters, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Winks, Sissoko, Eriksen, Dele, Son, Kane.

Some Tottenham fans would argue that Lucas Moura would be in the Lilywhites strongest possible eleven. However, considering just how effective the Brazilian is off of the bench, having Heung-Min Son in the side just edges it for a lot of the fan base. Either way, the supporters were absolutely buzzing when Pochettino named his side, and even more excited when they saw the Barcelona eleven that Ernesto Valverde fielded on the night.
It truly was a game to remember for all associated with Spurs yesterday, and for a lot of the fans, it was never in doubt from the minute they saw who Pochettino had trusted with the job as the teams were announced at 19:00. The fans certainly had their wobbles during the clash at the Camp Nou, but ultimately the result is the right one and now the North London club have fulfilled the promise of their new ground being ‘the only place to watch the Champions League in London’.
You can read the Lilywhites’ responses to Poch’s strong lineup here:
Strongest possible Spurs team fielded tonight, Barcelona heavily rotated with no Messi in the starting eleven.
Four academy players in the squad with three of them starting the game, brave selection but we’ll never get a better chance to beat Barcelona, please Spurs for this

Love this line-up…especially love the late-match spark that will come from Lamela and Lucas off the bench.

Seeing this line up and the Barca line up, we now have to win. Barca still have a good line up, and at the Camp Nou, it will be tough. But please go out there and win! Complete the comeback. #COYS #THFC

The Lilywhites were loving life when they saw the team selection, and whilst they left it late in Catalonia, they eventually pulled through with a well-earned point.
