Tottenham fans on Twitter had nothing but praise for influential Llorente yesterday

The big Spaniard is a great impact substitute for his tall stature and abilities as a target man, but as you can imagine, he’s struggled to usurp Harry Kane. However, he came off the bench yesterday and played his part in the winning goal with a superb flick-on before Christian Eriksen’s strike.

Credit where credit is due, Sean Dyche’s Burnley side made themselves a really frustrating side to play against and Mauricio Pochettino’s side tried and tried and tired to break them down without any success. However, it was the Lilywhites’ last throw of the dice that paid off as Llorente’s flick from a Kieran Trippier long ball led to Harry Kane laying off for Eriksen to smash home.
This isn’t the first time that Llorente has come into a game late and made an impact for Tottenham. The big Spaniard may not always be used by Poch, and sometimes he eve fails to make the substitutes bench, but whenever he’s called upon he’s a top professional and does the job asked of him, usually to great effect too, given the nature of the 33-year-old’s game.
You can see exactly what the Lilywhites made of Llorente’s cameo here:
Well played Fernando, you more than played your part in that game and you don’t get anywhere the credit you rightly deserve for the impact you have had on games this season.

Always a big threat when you play, brilliant in the air, great at holding the ball and a perfect tactical option. Very underrated player. Hope you get more game time

The Lilywhites loved seeing Llorente come on and have such an impact, and will hope he can do similar in the coming weeks as the fixtures come thick and fast.
