Tottenham fans on Twitter hate the idea of Michael Keane swoop

Tottenham fans will be absolutely desperate to break their transfer duck this summer and make a signing. Despite their desperation, they still don’t want to sign any mediocre player, and these rumours in the Daily Mail claiming the Lilywhites could make a £50 million swoop for Michael Keane have left loads of Spurs fans highly frustrated.

On his day, Michael Keane is a cracking player and can stand up to anyone as a central defender. Tottenham Hotspur fans, though, just don’t see it and will be more than happy to see this rumour remain just that, as they’d like to see a more high-profile central defender come in should they lose Toby Alderweireld as is expected in the fast-approaching summer months.
As long as Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino bring in some new faces to fill their problem areas then the Lilywhites should be happy. However, the chances of them being happy with bringing in the likes of Keane and other midtable quality players is a backwards step as far as the Lilywhites are concerned, and anyone like Keane who comes in will be up against it from the start given the way the fans feel about this one.

I’m willing to offer a freddo and a loan of Vincent Jansen.

Only upside would be a homegrown player and England international. Value would go up. Agreed though- serious downgrade for a couple of years.

From Toby to Keane… now that’s a downgrade

The Lilywhites hate the idea of bringing in Michael Keane as an Alderweireld replacement and would much rather see a bigger name come in should the Belgian depart.
