Tottenham fans on Twitter in awe of Lamela’s form

Tottenham won 2-1 at Brighton yesterday thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Erik Lamela in what wasn’t quite the routine game the fans thought they might get. Lamela came off the bench to score what would turn out to be the winner at The Amex and the Lilywhites are loving the Argentine’s form as of late.

Erik Lamela is yet to start a game this season. However, in the three games he’s appeared off the bench he’s had a hand in three goals. On his first appearance of the season, he made a barn-storming run from inside his own half to the edge of Fulham’s box before slipping one through for Harry Kane to score and he then backed that up with a goal against Liverpool off the bench.

As far as the supporters are concerned the 26-year-old has to be starting a game sooner or later. It looks pretty clear that both Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane are not 100% and that’s probably down to fatigue. It wouldn’t be a bad move for Mauricio Pochettino to opt to use Lamela and Lucas Moura together next Saturday against Huddersfield. The pair have been Spurs’ two best players this season and the fans would love seeing Lamela start, especially after his well-taken goal yesterday on the south coast.

You can read The Lilywhites’ verdict on Lamela here:

The Lilywhites have been loving seeing Lamela at his brilliant best and will hope he can keep shining when the rest of the team improve too.
