Tottenham fans on Twitter in awe of Winks after Spain display

Harry Winks is one of those who goes somewhat unnoticed in the Tottenham squad. Whilst Harry Kane, Dele Alli and co are grabbing headlines, Winks does what he does, looking classy in midfield and keeping his team ticking and he was at it again last night for Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions.

Tottenham fans everywhere love the Hemel Hempstead-born humble midfielder. Winks has been at Tottenham since the age of just 8 and being a boyhood Tottenham fan, you can see why the fans love him. For that reason, it’s brilliant for the Spurs fans when Winks shines at international level and against one of the best sides in the world yesterday the 22-year-old midfielder was at his very best, bossing the midfield at The Benito Villamarin.

The England performance, on the whole, was sublime and the number of records broken yesterday evening speaks volumes about how historic last night was. Despite that, though, when the team lineup was announced a lot of fans weren’t pleased to see Winks, Eric Dier and Ross Barkley lining up in a midfield three. Those fans were soon proved wrong and in the future, there will be a lot of supporters expecting big things from Winks and co.

The Lilywhites are loving Winks and will be keen to see him continue to impress for both club and country in the coming months of the season.
