Tottenham fans on Twitter look back to 2-2 Anfield tie ahead of Sunday clash

Tottenham fans will be getting more and more nervous as the days continue to come and go leading up to their trip to Anfield on Sunday. If results go their way they could drop out of the top four, and ahead of the huge tie the Lilywhites have been looking back to last season’s trip to Anfield where they drew 2-2.

After that game at Anfield, the Lilywhites had Liverpool fans on strings for months. Some of the Reds still haven’t forgotten that game and still feel like it was an injustice. However, it’s in the past now, and Tottenham fans will be eager to do anything they can to try and repeat it, all the way from Victor Wanyama’s screamer to the look on Jurgen Klopp’s face when they equalised through Harry Kane.

This time around, things will be a hell of a lot tougher for Tottenham fans. Loris Karius may have been one of the heroes last time around as he saved one of Kane’s two Anfield spot-kicks, but this time beating Alisson Becker will be much harder. Regardless, it will still be an interesting match up, and whilst Tottenham fans are undoubtedly nervous, some of them will still back themselves to take at least a point away from Merseyside.

The Lilywhites are more than ready to give it a go at Anfield come Sunday, and whilst they may not be expecting a win, it will certainly be a great occasion.
