Whilst it may not have been the biggest game that Dele Alli has ever played in, the third round Carabao Cup clash at Stadium MK was huge for the 22-year-old. Dele captained his side out in his hometown, scored a penalty to level the score at 1-1 during the game and then dispatched the decisive penalty in the shootout in what was a perfect evening for the youngster.

Dele Alli came through at Milton Keynes Dons and was lucky enough to play for the Dons’ senior team before he was snapped up by Tottenham back in January 2015. The midfielder bagged himself 24 goals for the League Two side before he made the move to White Hart Lane and since that move he hasn’t looked back, establishing himself as an England regular and one of the best young players in the world today.
Dele’s partnership with the likes of Eric Dier, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen on the pitch is crucial to the way Tottenham play and Mauricio Pochettino would have to be offered a sum well north of £100 million before he would even consider sitting down to talk about selling the MK-born sensation. After last night’s display, the fans will be hoping Dele Alli can kickstart his season and start putting in the displays the fans expect of him again.
