Tottenham fans will always be fond of Mido after his two years with the club back between 205 and 2007. The Egyptian spent the 2005/06 season on loan at White Hart Lane from Roma before signing permanently in summer 2006. He only lasted one year, though, and was sold to Middlesbrough the next summer having scored 19 goals in 61 appearances.
“It was an honour to play for Tottenham.”

For a lot of fans, it was a real blast from the past seeing Mido at Wembley as he turned out to watch his former employers and it will also have shown the Lillywhites just how far they’ve come since Mido’s days at the club. In the two seasons which the Egyptian was at the club they finished 5th, a big improvement on the 9th place in the season before Mido’s arrival and 11th the season after he departed.
It’s fair to say that the 35-year-old was never the star striker whilst he was at the club as he played alongside the likes of Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov in his two-year stint at White Hart Lane. However, he wasn’t loved any less than the other two and a lot of supporters are still very fond of their former frontman, with plenty of them sharing their love for the Egyptian on Twitter when Tottenham tweeted that he would be in attendance.
