Tottenham fans on Twitter loving Fernando Llorente’s timely return

No one is claiming that Fernando Llorente is a better striker than Harry Kane, but having him available is certainly a massive boost. The Spaniard’s goals and assists from the bench have given the Lilywhites a massive boost this season in Kane’s absence, and after he bagged against Borussia Dortmund in the last round, the fans are loving that he’s fit.

The chances are Llorente won’t be included from the start tonight, but given his six-foot-five-inch frame and ability to pull central defenders around and bully them in the air, he provides a brilliant option from the bench. Off the bench against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley, he scored the third and final goal of the game from a corner to pretty much kill off any hope that Dortmund may be able to get back in the tie.
The Spaniard has been mostly a very useful addition at the club so far, having signed in summer 2017 from Swansea, he’s done a much better job of deputising for Harry Kane than most, and certainly has done a better job than Vincent Janssen. It’s nights like tonight, though, that the Spaniard can step up in and make himself a hero, and if he can repeat his Dortmund display later then he’ll be held in even higher regard with the fans.
