Once again, Erik Lamela left the pitch yesterday with his head held high as one of the best performers wearing a Tottenham shirt against Barcelona. His goal in the second half was the least he deserved and he'll be keen to build on that and continue to add to his four goals he's scored this season.

The season so far is yet to see the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen hit their best form. Thankfully, Tottenham's passionate Argentine, Lamela has been on hand, alongside Lucas Moura, to deliver the level of performance that The Lilywhites have come to expect from their side over the last few years. The 26-year-old has proven invaluable to the Mauricio Pochettino and you can't help but feel like the best is yet to come from Lamela.

His goal and assist last night had Wembley rocking and despite Lionel Messi's brilliance, it was a different Argentine that the Spurs fans were lauding after the game. Lamela's form goals this season have been celebrated greatly by the fans and it seems the supporters are finally seeing the Lamela that they thought they'd signed back in 2013. His highest goal tally in a single season at Tottenham so far stands at 11 from the 2016/16 season and with four to his name already this season, he'll be keen to smash that tally of 11 out of the park.

The praise for Lamela from the Spurs fans is endless and now it will be time for the 26-year-old to continue his purple patch into the coming matches against Cardiff and West Ham.
