Tottenham fans on Twitter really don’t want Andre Gomes swoop

Tottenham fans have enjoyed plenty of positive attacking football under Mauricio Pochettino, yet this summer could be a huge one for them as if they want to grow as a club they need to show ambition in the market. As the fans look to the papers ahead of the silly season, rumours are flying around and one of them links them with Andre Gomes.

The Portuguese central-midfielder is a tidy player and whilst he may have failed to make the grade at a club the size of Barcelona, his current loan spell at Everton has proved to be successful. The rumours come via The Telegraph and claim that the Lilywhites are ready to pinch Gomes from under Everton’s nose with a £30 million bid, and whilst Gomes has proven himself this season, the fans still aren’t sure.
Back in January, Tottenham Hotspur lost Mousa Dembele to China when a bid came in for the Belgian midfield maestro, and replacing his brilliance and grace in the middle of the park will surely be a must when the summer window opens. At the moment, the fans are laughing at the idea of the Goodison Park favourite as that Dembele replacement, but in time and with some Pochettino tutelage, Gomes could become anything he wants to be.

FFS we need someone who can improve our starting 11 not a bench player who may or may not make an impact. Tielemans wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy before Gomes.

Seriously! 30 million for him? After saving all the money, you come up with this.

The Lilywhites are all pretty clear that Gomes isn’t for them, and if he does sign the Portuguese midfielder will have to prove himself all over again in North London.
