Tottenham fans on Twitter urge Lloris to avoid catastrophic blunder

Today is a huge day for all associated with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. The Lilywhites will be playing in their first Champions League quarter-final since 2011, and ahead of the game their skipper, Hugo Lloris,  has urged the club to ‘feel the power’ of their shiny new stadium to help them edge past Manchester City.

Any supporters who want to see what Hugo Lloris had to say can read his comments in full in The Daily Mail, but most of the Tottenham fans have bee brushing the Frenchman’s words aside and are just desperate for him to get through the game without dropping a clanger. It’s happened too often over the last few years that Lloris has cost them when it’s mattered most, and another blunder tonight would tip the fans over the edge.

This season has seen plenty of calls for Lloris to be dropped, and in some cases sold, especially considering the form of the impressive Paulo Gazzaniga when he’s played. However, Lloris is still the Lilywhites’ #1 and he’s still the club captain. Against Borussia Dortmund, in the last round, the Frenchman was sublime and kept them in the tie at times and all the fans want is for him to be in similar form and avoid dropping the ball into his own net, as we’ve seen in big games before.

You can read the Lilywhites’ verdict on Lloris’ comments here:

The Lilywhites will do anything to get through tonight without any Lloris blunders and whilst it may sound simple enough, the Frenchman always pulls out his biggest errors in games like these.
