Another day, another Tottenham Hotspur academy product. The likes of Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp and Kyle Walker-Peters have all starred this season, and the Lilywhites are desperate for Marcus Edwards to do similar next season. The 20-year-old is currently on-loan at Excelsior in the Eredivisie, and his Spurs future is up in the air.
Do you think Marcus Edwards has a future at Tottenham Hotspur? https://t.co/zJPy720zBy

Seeing as the weekend just gone had very little in the way of action or talking points for Tottenham Hotspur fans, Football.london’s Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold decided to do a Spurs Q&A to give the fans their fix, and one question that came in surrounded the future of Edwards. Back in summer 2016, the youngster impressed Mauricio Pochettino during pre-season, but nothing has come of him yet.
After that summer, Pochettino made the grave mistake of comparing Marcus Edwards to Lionel Messi and to this day the young midfielder has been unable to shake the comparison. It seems to have hindered him a lot more than it’s helped him, and attitude issues have apparently held him back too. However, the fans are desperate for him to come good and would be more than happy to give him another chance next season when he returns from his loan.

I don't know but I'd love him to

Can easily replace Lamela

Yes, Kane Erikson Ali Son and Edwards sounds incredible, with Wanyama sitting

His attitude really seemed to be the issue, bags of talent. I think Poch will have one final look at him in pre season, and if the attitude is not good enough, he will simply move him on, such a shame really because that looks like it will be the case

Well I'm hoping his time away from england and the English media will serve him well, his coach seems to think he's matured so we can only hope that's the case. Don't think his talent was ever doubted so if he's ready to get the head down then why not!

From the limited time I’ve seen him looks like he has bags of talent and would be a shame to not see him make it with us. Sounds like the loan has gone fairly well so fingers crossed something has clicked for him

It’s a bloody shame he took the wrong route attitude wise,I hope he can turn it around. Has real talent

He has the talent to and hopefully with his performances while out on loan and what’s been quoted as a renewed work ethic too then I don’t see why not!

Bring him back. He's nasty on the ball.

From some quotes I saw the other day it looks as if he’s finally maturing as a player, not sure they are genuine though

The Lilywhites are desperate for Edwards to make it at Spurs and will hope the 20-year-old can prove himself to Poch upon his return in the summer.
