Tottenham fans on Twitter were rocked when they saw Kane benched last night

Harry Kane tends to be the man to make things happen at Tottenham, the man that the Lilywhites hail as ‘one of their own’ always delivers when it matters and his goals have dig them out time and time again. So last night, when Mauricio Pochettino left Kane on the bench, the fans were understandably panicked.

Whilst the Lilywhites have learned to love Harry Kane over the years for his goals and huge moments, they’ve also learnt that Mauricio Pochettino hardly ever gets it wrong, and once again the Argentine delivered last night with his team selection proving to be right on the money as he became just the 2nd ever Tottenham manager to win a game at The Emirates since it’s opening in 2006.

Kane did feature on the night, coming off the bench as a second-half substitute, and it took him just a matter of minutes to help double the scoreline when he played an inch-perfect ball through to Dele Alli who finished the chance beautifully, with the sweetest of dinks over Petr Cech. It was typical of Kane, delivering on the big stage, and he left all of the fans who doubted the starting lineup regretting their worries when he came on to set up the goal that killed the game.

The fans were panicking at first when they saw Kane was being rested, but when Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli did the business the fans’ fears had all disappeared.
