The sooner yesterday is forgotten about the better as far as Tottenham fans are concerned. They’ve had some horrendous injury woes and have struggled domestically this season, but yesterday was their 13th league loss of the season and that isn’t good enough. After the game, Mauricio Pochettino gave his thoughts but the fans weren’t having it.

After the game, Tottenham’s official Twitter account released a 23-second video of Pochettino talking about the game, where he branded the loss ‘a little bit unlucky’. The fans don’t believe that applies, though, and even though they had two men sent off in Juan Foyth and Heung-Min Son, the loss at Dean Court being their 13th is simply not good enough, especially with Champions League football in the balance.
There are no secrets that a win yesterday would have seen the Lilywhites confirm themselves a spot in the top four this season, thus giving them Champions League football, but now it will go down to the last day. Next Sunday they face Everton at home on the Premier League’s final day, and a win will give them a guaranteed top four finish, whilst a loss could see them stuck in the Europa League. For now, though, the fans are still a mixture of seething, let down and disappointed about yesterday.
You can see what the Reds’ thought on Poch’s comments and the loss here:
Finally paying for not buying any new players in last two windows. Tired players making bad decisions. Lack of squad depth will cost a champions league place

No words. 1 goal in 5 games would be embarrassing for Huddersfield let alone Tottenham. We don’t deserve champions league

Can’t wait for this season to end, been terrible overall other than CL semis

We are frauds!!, 13 defeats. Mid table stuff!! Board chose not to invest despite record profits and paying the price. Blagging it right now. Stadium and Champs league papering over the cracks big time

Team and manager obviously want Europa league and not champions league .

Here we go again, we really don't deserve to finish in the top four.

10 points from a possible 36 ….. Shocking. 14 prem defeats ( inc next Sunday – foregone! )… Abysmal. Teams below us win last two and we finish sixth. I’ve been here before No discipline, no backbone, no stamina. Europa Vase in our shiny stadium then. No thanks

Poch, you are deluded. Say it for what it is, these players have failed you and they are not good enough. You spoke of not needing signings and being happy with your squad…13 losses, abysmal away record recently and performances like these says otherwise.

The Lilywhites can’t be blamed for being down over the performance and the result, and they’ll just be desperate for a result in Amsterdam on Wednesday.
