Tottenham fans on Twitter would do anything to sign West Ham’s Declan Rice

As far as Tottenham Hotspur fans are concerned, the January transfer window is huge. The Lilywhites signed nobody in the summer and now with a fatigued and injury-stricken squad, the fans are desperate for signings. Fortunately, they’ve been linked to a fair few players and this particular rumour in The Daily Mail linking Spurs to Declan Rice has got The Lilywhites excited.

According to the article from The Mail, Tottenham could be set to battle it out with Chelsea for the young central-defender turned midfielder. His ability to shift between defence and midfield, much like Eric Dier does, makes him an incredibly valuable player and whilst Chelsea will be able to offer him a better contract financially, what Tottenham can table is first-team football alongside some of the best young talents in Europe.

Mauricio Pochettino’s supposed interest in Rice makes plenty of sense. Since he rocked up in N17 the Argentine has signed young English talents like Dier and Dele Alli and has promoted the likes of Harry Winks to the first team, and he could be set to make Declan Rice the next huge talent in North London. Tottenham fans have been looking at central-midfielders and defenders and with Rice ticking both of those boxes he could be a great addition to the club, and the fans are all in agreement that he’s the real deal.
