Tottenham fans raving over Trippier’s new lease of life as a set-piece taker

Over the summer, plenty of Tottenham fans were left astounded as Keiran Trippier smashed home a free-kick from 30 yards, leaving them wondering why they were yet to see that from the 27-year-old in a Tottenham shirt, however, he made up for that yesterday.

Wembley Stadium was proving to be a more than good enough venue to host Tottenham and Fulham, Aleksandar Mitrovic’s opportunistic header had cancelled out Lucas Moura’s earlier finish and with less than 20 minutes to play Dele Alli was fouled 30 yards out from the Fulham goal. Most Tottenham fans expected Christian Eriksen to take charge, as he has done so many times before, although things didn’t go how the fans thought they would.

Kieran Trippier stepped up and bent the free-kick up and over the wall before getting it to dip under the crossbar, out of the reach of the diving Fabri. The 2-1 lead was then made a 3-1 lead just minutes later and it looked like the Bury Beckham had taken the wind out of Fulham with his wand of a right foot. The Tottenham fans will be calling for more of the same from their sublime right-back and if can bend in some more free-kicks this season then he’ll only cement his status as a true fan favourite.

The supporters will be keen to see some more magic from Trippier and if can deliver it when it matters like he did yesterday then he’ll go from strength to strength at the club.
