Tottenham: Fans react to Alderweireld’s goal

Euro 2020 qualifiers resumed last night and while Northern Ireland fought Germany right down to the wire, narrowly losing to the visitors 2-0 thanks to two second-half goals from Marcel Halstenberg and Serge Gnabry, Scotland were busy being taught a footballing lesson by Belgium.
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne was yet again in inspired form, setting up three of the Red Devils’ four goals, before then grabbing one for himself late on. Romelu Lukaku and Thomas Vermaelen were the beneficiaries of De Bruyne’s excellent display last night, each grabbing a goal inside the first 25 minutes at Hampden Park.
Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld also managed to get on the scoresheet, nodding home from a perfect out-swinging corner from the Manchester City midfielder just after the half-hour mark.
The Belgian’s goal excited Spurs fans on Twitter, with some calling for a repeat performance this weekend when Crystal Palace travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The 30-year-old is yet to open his account for Spurs this season, though that could all change now he has a bit of confidence behind him; it’s just a shame that there will be no De Bruyne on the pitch to help him out…
Hope he scores for us soon
