After he spent two seasons at the club, winning over every single fan to step foot in White Hart Lane, it was only fitting that Tottenham fans got to see Rafael Van Der Vaart at the new stadium yesterday for the legends match. The Dutchman couldn’t get on the scoresheet but looked lively going forward, and the supporters loved it.

Van Der Vaart also had the honour of being the man who was substituted off for Paul Gascoigne, and the picture of the two Tottenham heroes embracing as the change was made will be one that will go down in history for the fans. Seeing so many former players from years gone by step foot at the new ground was truly special, and Van Der Vaart received an incredible reception.
The squad assembled by Gary Mabbutt was a special one and the fans will be eagerly awaiting the next edition of the Spurs Legends whoever they may find themselves playing. If it does happen, though, Rafa VDV will be one of the first names on the teamsheet, and the Lilywhites will always take any opportunity possible to see him back in the shirt that he donned for two years between 2010 and 2012.

The Lilywhites loved seeing Van Der Vaart again and will hope they don’t have to wait too long until his next appearance at the new stadium.
