Tottenham fans have had it so tough this season with injuries. The Lilywhites have seen almost every single member of their squad spend time in the treatment room this season, and ahead of their Champions League semi-final with Ajax, the news has been broken that Moussa Sissoko will be missing the first leg.

Tottenham fans everywhere will be devastated with the news of Sissoko’s injury, especially considering how good the Frenchman has been when he’s played this season. If you’d have told a Tottenham fan at the end of the 2017/18 season that Sissoko would be key to their hopes of reaching the Champions League final they would have laughed in your face, yet here we are.
The news of Sissoko’s injury came straight from the mouth of Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine, speaking ahead of their clash with Brighton tonight, claimed that Sissoko is facing two weeks out, meaning he will likely also miss Ajax next week too. The good news is that he should be back for the second leg in Amsterdam (transcript via The Telegraph) but it’s still tough news to stomach for the Spurs fans.

The Lilywhites hate the idea of not having Sissoko for Ajax but will have to just get by with what they have got, even if that means a double pivot of Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama.
