If you were to ask a lot of Tottenham fans, a lot of them would tell you that Vincent Janssen has left the club. However, the Dutch striker has been exiled by Mauricio Pochettino as a foot injury kept him from being sold and he’s just been left to rot. Now, though, Sky Sports have claimed he could play for the Lilywhityes U23s on Monday.
[@SkySports] reports Tottenham Hotspur’s Vincent Janssen could return from a long-term foot injury to play for Spurs’ second string versus Liverpool in Premier League 2.

Vincent Janssen joined Tottenham from AZ Alkmaar for a fee of just under £20 million back in summer 2016 and wat the time he was viewed as the Lilywhites solution to their backup striker problem. No one expected the Dutchman to usurp Harry Kane as the club’s first-choice striker, but they expected him to fare a little bit better than how he has done, with just six goals in 39 appearances.
The news from Sky Sports claims that Janssen is set to feature for Tottenham’s U23s against Liverpool in the Premier League 2 on Monday as he makes his long-awaited return from a foot injury that required surgery. The Dutchman won’t be able to feature in the Premier League, though, as he isn’t registered as part of Mauricio Pochettino’s 25-man squad, However, a lot of the Lilywhites would love to see him given a second chance after seeing how good Moussa Sissoko has been as of late.
You can read the Lilywhites’ calls to give Janssen a second chance here:
Tbh this guy hasn’t been given too much of a chance. Had a goal and assist against Roma in pre-season last year and then was loaned out. Wouldn’t be horrible to try him out against poor opposition if Fernando is sold.

Deserves a second chance. Just like Sissoko.
