Tottenham fans have had some real goalkeeping struggles this year. Hugo Lloris was convicted of drink driving and missed a considerable amount of time through injury. Michel Vorm came in and was absolutely horrendous, leaving just Paulo Gazzaniga, who is yet to put a foot wrong, leading to fans calling for him to be their new number one.

The Argentine turns 27-years-old today, and a lot of the Lilywhites will be hoping that 2017 can be his year as the ‘keeper aims to usurp Lloris as their first choice. Whenever he’s been called upon he has shone, and is yet to lose a game when starting for Tottenham in his 18 months at the club since he swapped St Mary’s for North London back in summer 2017.
This season has seen the Argentine called into action six times, and on every occasion he has stood up and bee counted. That number is set to rise from six to seven this week too, as Tottenham face Tranmere away in the FA Cup 3rd round, a fixture that Mauricio Pochettino will certainly rest Lloris for in favour of his second choice net man. However, the fans will be hoping that sooner or later, Gazzaniga can become the permanent number one at the club.

Give him the birthday present of making him our number 1 for god sake.

The Lilywhites have very high estimations of Gazzaniga and will hope the Argentine can usurp Lloris sooner or later.
