Tottenham fans take to Twitter to call for Kessie swoop

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a lot of midfielders over the last few transfer windows. The likes of Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele have had their fair share of injury problems, and if links from TuttoMercatoWeb are genuine and Franck Kessie could be joining the club, then fans would be happy to let Wanyama and Dembele walk.

Franck Kessie, according to the TuttoMercatoWeb article, is desperate to play Champions League football. The Ivorian is currently on a two-year loan at AC Milan from Atalanta, but the Rossoneri have an obligation to buy the midfielder at the end of that loan this summer, which is what is sparking these rumours. Kessie and co finished 6th last season with Milan, and are currently 5th, looking likely to miss out on Champions League football.
Meanwhile, in North London, the Lilywhites look set to finish inside the top four for their 4th straight season, meaning that they will be given a seat at Europe’s top footballing table once again. That could be what persuades Kessie to leave the Serie A for the Premier League, and with an impressive highlight reel of performances in Italy, he could be a tidy addition to Mauricio Pochettino’s young squad.

The Lilywhites seem keen on a swoop for Kessie, and the Ivorian is certainly one who’ll bring some bite to the club’s midfield.
