Tottenham fans take to Twitter to call for Sigurdsson return

Tottenham fans are all desperate to translate their European form to the Premier League after failing to win their last three domestic league games. Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s 3-0 and 1-0 wins over Borussia Dortmund were sublime, but a win against Southampton is much-needed, and ahead of the game the fans have been calling for Sigurdsson.

Gyfli Sigurdsson was a huge fan favourite at White Hart Lane. The Icelandic midfielder scored some bangers in Tottenham colours and ahead of their clash with Southampton at St Mary’s the fans have been looking back at one of his famous goals against the Southcoast club from the 2014/15 season where Christian Eriksen teed the ball up for the midfielder to complete an incredible comeback in added time.

That day at the Lane saw the Lilywhites recover from 2-0 down to win 3-2, and after reminiscing over that famous game a lot of the fans have been calling for Sigurdsson to make a return to the club and questioning why he was ever allowed to leave in the first place given his ability to score and assist goals out of nowhere and his near-telepathic links up with Christian Eriksen.

Loads of Tottenham fans would jump at the chance to bring back Sigurdsson, and it’s clear to see why when you look at some of his stunning goals.
