With Tottenham Hotspur fans getting ready for the opening of their new stadium, the two test events will be something they cannot wait for. The first one, a U18 clash, has gathered less attention, but the second features Tottenham Legends vs Inter Forever, and Paul Gascoigne’s recent tweet has got the Lilywhites bursting with excitement.
Not sure but I spoke2my manager shane Whitfield&said y am I getting all these tweets about a LEGENDS game at spurs new stadium a week come Saturdayhe said he’s not sureoh an hr ago I got a ball out lit up a floodlit pitch&if there’s a game at spurs im up 4 it from GAZZAx pic.twitter.com/8KR2EluMFi

As the Lilywhites have been slowly announcing new batches of Tottenham legends who will be in Gary Mabbutt’s squad for the clash on March 30th, Gascoigne has spectacularly thrown his name in the hat, and if anyone deserves to be there then it’s him. The 51-year-old was one of the brightest talents in the game in his Tottenham days, and left the Lilywhites with some memories they’ll never forget.
Four seasons with Tottenham between 1988 and 1992 was all that Gascoigne needed to secure his legend status in North London, with his most famous moment coming in the 1991 FA Cup semi-final when he rifled a 30-yard free-kick past David Seaman in front of 77,000 people. Whilst that moment will never be topped, the fans would love to see Gazza come out at the new stadium and recreate that famous goal, this time, though, he’d have to settle for beating Julio Cesar in front of 45,000.

The Lilywhites have no doubt that Gazza deserves to be featuring in the legends game in nine days time and would do absolutely anything to get him there.
