Tottenham fans take to Twitter to laud sublime Lloris after London derby win

Hugo Lloris hasn’t always been given the rub of the green by Tottenham fans this season. The Frenchman has had some questionable moments that have soured his better ones, however, nothing was going to take away his incredible performance yesterday as the Lilywhites overcame Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage.

The World Cup-winning captain had to be big in the first half to keep the score at 1-0 and he produced some fine stops throughout the clash, denying Ryan Babel and Andre Schurlle in the first half as both of them had fine chances to double the Cottagers lead. However, the Frenchman stood firm and made the saves when it counted as he more than played his part in what could be a famous win.
Mauricio Pochettino will love having Lloris back to his top form after a shaky first half of the season and whilst the Frenchman may be benched in favour of the Argentine Paulo Gazzaniga against Chelsea on Thursday, it’s Lloris who is still the nailed on number one at the club despite pressure from the fans over the last few months.
You can read the supporters’ thoughts on Lloris’ display here:
Well played Hugo made some real top saves today at crucial times during the game.
Lucky to have two decent keepers at the moment in Lloris and Gazzaniga.

The Lilywhites were in awe of Lloris yesterday and will be desperate to see the Frenchman replicate that form over the course of the season.
