Tottenham fans take to Twitter to laud sublime Sissoko on Palace display

Last night was a momentous occasion for Tottenham fans all over the world. The Lilywhites opened their new stadium in style with a routine 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen grabbed the goals, but when it came to the man of the match vote on Twitter the fans were left purring over Moussa Sissoko.

This season has truly been a revelation for Sissoko. The Frenchman has been at the club since signing in summer 2016, and it seems we’re only just starting to see the best of the ex-Newcastle man in a Spurs shirt. Given the injuries that the North London club has had to deal with this season, his form has been crucial in their midfield, and once again he was a behemoth in the middle of the park yesterday.

Yesterday saw the Frenchman rock up at the new stadium and prove a point as he did what he’s done so well this season, winning the ball back in midfield and going on those driving runs to take Tottenham from back to front in an instance. He may not have been able to grab a goal or an assist on the grand opening of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but he was classy throughout the 90 minutes.

You can read the Lilywhites’ calls for Sissoko as MOTM here:

Sissoko has truly won over the Lilywhites this season and the fans will be desperate for more of the same from the Frenchman between now and the end of the season.
