Tottenham Hotspur continue to march on in the title race. The Lilywhites may be outsiders for the title, but they’re in the mix and grabbed a big three points yesterday to help their cause. However, their 3-1 win may have been a very different result had Hugo Lloris not been at his brilliant best throughout.

The 2018 World Cup winning captain stepped up tremendously well yesterday, turning in a quality performance and making a number of impressive saves as the Lilywhites overcame the Foxes, despite not being the better side on the day. Claude Puel’s side certainly deserved to take something from the clash, and it really is thanks to the Lilywhites’ captain that they didn’t.
Hugo Lloris was called into action on a number of occasions, producing smart stops to deny Youri Tielemans and Harvey Barnes as well as the marquee moment of the match from the Frenchman when he kept out a Jamie Vardy penalty. The Lilywhites loved seeing their captain step up in the way he did, and will hope that he can make yesterday’s performance his benchmark for the rest of the season.

Great save, but honestly, that was a bit nuts having Vardy take that kick.
