Tottenham fans were in awe of Danny Rose on Saturday

Danny Rose has struggled more than most over the last few years. After staking a claim as one of the world’s best left-backs between 2015 and 2017 he suffered a nasty injury, seeing him on the sidelines for just under a year, and conducted an interview where he slated his club’s transfer policy. However, he’ll be keen to get back to his best and his display against Brighton was a great start.

During the dying minutes of Tottenham’s 2-1 win over Brighton, Glenn Hoddle named Danny Rose as his man of the match whilst doing commentary duty for the game and whilst the fans didn’t all agree with Hoddle when they voted for their man of the match, there’s no doubting that the left-back had a great game and deserved plaudits for playing his part in the club’s much-needed win.

The 28-year-old received 30% of the near 14,000 votes from Tottenham fans and he was narrowly pipped to the man of the match award by Paulo Gazzaniga who received 34% of the votes. The defender looked calm and assured and even looked a threat down the left-hand side as he bombed on. He even could have had a goal when he was unmarked on the edge of the box, but Christian Eriksen opted to have a go himself instead of laying off for Rose.

The fans loved seeing Rose’s performance and will be keen to see him continue his form into the coming games.
