German daily Bild has caused quite a stir in the Football Transfer Tavern as it offers up the name Andre Hoffmann as a potential target for Tottenham in the summer.
The Hannover 96 midfielder has reportedly been watched several times in the recent weeks by representatives from White Hart Lane, as the Lilywhites try to reinforce their squad come the end of the season.
The 20-year-old emerged in Die Roten’s side last term, and has already 14 appearances this year despite his young age.
His rapid development seems to have alerted a host of European sides with Spurs and Tim Sherwood considering his talents after receiving very positive reviews from their scouting team.
The 20-year-old German youth international broke into Die Roten’s starting lineup after his move from second division side MSV Duisburg for 800,000 euros last January.
Hoffmann plays predominantly as a defensive midfielder but can also slot in at centre back as he has recently for the German outfit.
The speculation has left punters in the bar wondering what is wrong with Jake Livermore who has done a fine job while on loan at Hull City and is already on the club’s books?
