Tottenham supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern have been given a boost this morning after it was revealed by the Express that long-time target Leandro Damiao is still interested in a move to White Hart Lane despite the lack of Champions League football.
The North London club are understood to be considering a massive double swoop for the Brazilian international and Valencia star Roberto Soldado as they seek to address their lack of strikers in Andre Villas-Boas’ squad.
It was originally thought that after Spurs failed to secure qualification for elite European football that the 23-year-old, who plays for Internacional in his native country, was unwilling to make the move to White Hart Lane but Damiao’s agent has dismissed these suggestions.
“If it was just a matter of money, he would have left a long time ago. Leandro Damiao’s dream is to play the World Cup.
“If he leaves, it will be to a big club, he is under contract until 2016 and the club gives him every condition for him to achieve that dream.
“Our idea is to always work with big clubs, all players dream of playing in the Champions League. But Tottenham are an important club in London, we can’t rule them out.”
Will Tottenham finally land the Brazilian forward this summer? Rate this rumour below.
