Tottenham Hotspur could be without one of their key men for a significant period of time.
The playmaker, who has been an important player for Spurs since arriving from Ajax in 2013, has only managed to feature for the club seven times this season so far.
The 26-year-old has been on the sidelines since the 22 September, although he has been called up to the Danish international side in a bid to prove his fitness.
Hareide stated that he felt the injury could be chronic and revealed that Tottenham also had the same concerns.
“Such an injury can be chronic, and it is true that Tottenham also fears that,” he said.
“It is doubtful whether we will lure him to Dublin and make him play. I do not think that Tottenham is particularly interested in that.”
This will be some really concerning news to those associated with Tottenham.
Eriksen has proven to be one of their most influential and creative talents for the team in recent seasons and have clearly missed him already during the current campaign.
Those at Spurs will be hopeful the problem is not as serious as Hareide is making out and will hoping they can welcome him back into the first-team in the very near future.
