Tottenham Hotspur have been rather impressive in recent times after stuttering slightly, with their Premier League title hopes still very much alive.
The Lilywhites will need to ensure consistency if they are to get anything out of the current campaign, with the teams above them beginning to build up ahead of steam. Although, it appears as if the London club are hoping to secure a player agreement, as according to Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness), Tottenham have tabled a new contract offer for Christian Eriksen.
Indeed, the Danish star’s contract at the north London club runs down in 2020 and his employer have already tabled a new offer, which is as ‘important’ as the one they gave to Harry Kane when he last signed an extension.
However, Eriksen is yet to accept Spurs’ offer and it’s claimed that it’s not a coincidence the former Ajax star has not put pen to paper on the new proposal and that Madrid interest is being pushed.
Although, it’s thought that the longer he refuses to commit his future to Mauricio Pochettino’s side, the closer he could get to making a move away from the Premier League outfit.
It’s clear to see that Spurs are aiming to secure a big player agreement having reportedly tabled a new offer for Christian Eriksen, but it remains to be seen as to whether he accepts the offer.
The Lilywhites will be desperate to secure the services of the attacking midfielder for an extended period of time having witnessed his quality and class over the years in North London.
