Tottenham Hotspur could be prepared to capitalise on the ongoing saga surrounding one of their Premier League rivals.
The teenager is thought to have rejected an offer of a new contract at the London Stadium outfit and is believed to have a number of sides ready to pounce.
Interest is high in Rice as he has just two years left on his current deal at the Hammers, although the Irons are confident that they can extend it by a further year, and Mauricio Pochettino’s team is thought to be one of them and could look to try and take the defender across London.
Tottenham could look to try and get the versatile teenager on the cheap if contract negotiations continue to be drawn out and he would certainly offer them options in both midfield and defence.
Tottenham holding an interest in Rice is a no-brainer and something that they should look to make known.
Pochettino has a great track record when it comes to getting the best out of youngsters and developing their game further, which is something the 19-year-old could benefit from.
However, Spurs will likely find it harder than anybody else to land the defender, as West Ham will not want to sell to a London-based rival and will not be looking to sell him on the cheap, despite the current situation.
