In recent comments made on Twitter, Alasdair Gold has heaped praise on Tottenham Hotspur youngster, Dane Scarlett.
Since being promoted to the Tottenham U18 side at the start of the season, the 16-year-old Scarlett has highly impressed, bagging an incredible 13 goals and providing three assists over his 10 Premier League appearances.
In fact, Scarlett has impressed so much at Spurs that Jose Mourinho has seen fit to award the youngster his first-team debut, coming in the club’s 4-0 Europa League victory over Ludogorets Razgrad back in November, an appearance that made the centre-forward Tottenham’s youngest ever debutant.
And, following yet another impressive display in his first appearance for the club’s U23 side, in which he added another goal to his collection for the season, Gold took to Twitter to praise the Spurs prospect.
He said: “The [Danny] Drinkwater/[Alfie] Devine incident shouldn’t overshadow this superb goal last night from 16-year-old Dane Scarlett. First U23s start and he’s heading Harvey White’s perfect ball into the box past Petr Cech. What a month for the record-breaking teenager.”
Do you think Dane Scarlett can break into the Spurs first-team next season?
Transfer Tavern Take
It is hard to deny that Scarlett appears to be a very promising young player indeed, clearing every hurdle that is put in front of him with relative ease.
And, considering the fact that was born in 2004, what is potentially the most exciting factor about the forward is that he is still at the very beginning of his journey as a footballer.
So, if he is to continue on the path that he appears to be on at present, Tottenham look as if they could well have another Harry Kane in the making on their hands.
In other Tottenham news, one former Spurs star revealed the player he thought the club were missing in their draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday, find out more here!
