There’s plenty of work to do though if the Argentinian is to make them genuine title contenders and at the heart of those efforts will be his recruitment in the upcoming summer transfer window.
It’s a critical time for the club as they look to build on their stomping season in the English Premier League and bring themselves to new heights in the UEFA Champions League.
As you can imagine Spurs scouts will have been sent far and wide, all over the world in recent months as they look for the next stars that can make an impact at the club.
One player The Evening Standard report the club have been keeping tabs on is Germany international Matthias Ginter. They say Tottenham sent scouts to check on his progress in the recent Denmark vs Germany international in which the defender completed 66 minutes of action.
The paper reckons he is valued at around £17.5m and has wages demands well within Spurs’ resources, currently earning £30,000-per-week.
The centre-back has been a vital part of the Borussia Dortmund first team this season, making 42 appearances in all competitions, including eight in the UEFA Champions League.
What do you think Spurs fans? Is he the defensive talent you were hoping to see next season or do you have other targets in mind?
