According to reports in Spain, via a transfer roundup from Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur have identified RB Leipzig central midfielder, Marcel Sabitzer, as a replacement for Tanguy Ndombele, should he leave the club.
So far this season, the £31.5 million-rated 26-year-old has highly impressed for Julian Nagelsmann’s side, scoring three goals and providing one assist over his nine Bundesliga appearances, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.98 – ranking him as the club’s sixth-best player in the German top flight.
And, it would appear that the Austria international has caught the eye of Jose Mourinho, as Football.London have discussed all the latest transfer rumours.
They refer back to reports in Spain that the 57-year-old is targeting the midfielder as a potential replacement for current Spurs star Ndombele, who himself is a target for Barcelona.

If these reports are to be believed, it would appear that any potential move from Spurs for Sabitzer is some way off due to a deal relying on many varying factors. However, should Ndombele indeed leave north London at any point, it is hard to argue that the RB Leipzig midfielder would be a good replacement for the Frenchman.
As can be seen from his 46 goals and 36 assists for Leipzig (95 goals and 75 assists for his whole career), the 26-year-old poses a significant threat going forwards from midfield, eclipsing the record Ndombele boasted of four goals and 16 assists over his 96 appearances for Olympique Lyon, albeit with the Austrian playing many more games than the current Spurs star.
Considering Mourinho has been deploying Ndombele further up the pitch this season, Sabitzer could bring far more end product to that attacking role.
