A large number of Tottenham Hotspur’s fans took to Twitter to provide Fernando Llorente an emotional goodbye after the forward revealed the next stage of his career.
After two wonderful seasons, today I say goodbye to Tottenham. It was a pleasure to wear this shirt and wherever I go there will be always a space in my heart for Tottenham and for their fans. I wish you all the best for this season and for the future! Thanks. #COYS pic.twitter.com/M2ox8SYpUy

The experienced Spaniard took to the social network site to share that he would be joining Napoli, on what has been reported to be a two-year deal (The Sun).
Llorente made a total of 66 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino during his time in north London, as he scored a total of 13 goals and provided a further six assists to his team-mates (Transfermarkt).
Although he may have not had a starting role for Spurs, he did make an impact in a number of games for them last season and helped guide the club to the Champions League final in Madrid.
Llorente continued to show in glimpses what he could provide Pochettino’s side when given the opportunity, with his performance against Ajax in the Champions League semi-final second leg just one piece of evidence. His introduction into the game appeared to turn the match into Tottenham’s favour, with BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand praising his work during his post-match analysis.
“He went and stood on Daley Blind the whole game when came on and they pumped balls into him”, said the former Manchester United man, via HITC.
”Daley Blind couldn’t deal with him, and then the boys, they came up behind Llorente and they produced the goods.”
Indeed, fans took to Twitter upon hearing the news that he would be joining Napoli and were only full of positive things to say.
Here are just some of their reactions…
