Tottenham Hotspur: Fans praise Harry Kane for speaking ‘truth’ after his comments

Harry Kane has laid into his Tottenham Hotspur teammates after the north London giants threw away a two-goal lead in the opening Champions League game away to Olympiakos.

Spurs were riding high after goals from Lucas Moura and Kane gave the Lilywhites a 2-0 lead after just 30 minutes. However, the game was turned on its head after goals from Daniel Castelo Podence and Mathieu Valbuena either side of half-time ensured the Greek side left with a point (via BBC).

Kane was far from complimentary of his teammates, who he blasted for making mistakes that he saw during ‘year one’ of Mauricio Pochettino’s reign at Spurs.

He said: “We’re not young anymore, we’re not inexperienced. We’ve played in big games, I can see why the manager is frustrated, he’s been here six years and we’re making similar mistakes to the first year.” (Source: Twitter)

The 2-2 draw against the Greek side was the second time this season Pochettino’s side have let a two-goal lead slip, also doing so against Arsenal in the north London derby earlier in the campaign.

Fans praised the England international after the comments he made as they took to Twitter to tweet their thoughts.
