Tottenham Hotspur were on the surprising end of a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday and fans took to Twitter to fume over the decisions Mauricio Pochettino made.

Spurs saw some rather poor defending contribute to their loss as Joelinton managed to create some space for himself as he brought down the ball from Christian Atsu’s chipped pass, before firing beyond a helpless Hugo Lloris in the net (Evening Standard).
The hosts had a number of chances to get back into the game, though no one was able to really challenge Martin Dubravka in between the sticks. In the end, they finished the game with just two shots on target (via BBC Sport).
The defeat means the north London outfit sit in seventh and comes at, arguably, one of the worst times for Spurs as they prepare to travel to the Emirates Stadium and face Arsenal next weekend.
Fans took to Twitter to slam the team’s performance on the day, with many of them taking to the social media outlet to criticise Pochettino.
Some of the Tottenham faithful felt the Argentine was too stubborn with his decisions, whilst others were far from pleased with his tactics.
Here are just some of their reactions…
Poch‘s fault. Stubborn decisions from Poch cost us this game. Shambles.

All Poch’s fault today. Tactical disaster class from him. He’s been backed as well so there’s no excuse

Wait didn’t Poch say after the Villa match he made a mistake tactically only to go and do the exact same thing the next home game

that poch disaster class….what is doing this season man

Massively massively disappointed with that.
Spent the whole game passing around the edge of their box with zero end product! Reluctance to change a failing system.
Pathetic performance. Poch to blame for this one.

I hope Don Pochettino was happy with his stupid decision to drop Vertonghen again for Sanchez, again. Also, if you come at me with
“poCH clEaRLy kNows hE iSn’T fIt, wHat dO yOu KnOw?”, if you’re fit enough to be on the bench, you’re fit enough to start.— LP (@thfclp__) August 25, 2019
Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!Harry Kane has been the worst player on the pitch today by far!
Yet again poch has to take the blame for this.
